Whenever Kim Leroux suggested to Invitae leadership that something needed to be done — whether a change, an update or a solution — the response was always fully supportive. Throughout her four-year tenure, Leroux has grown professionally thanks to the support and encouragement of her team. When it comes to figuring out new methods and solving novel problems, she finds the best answer is to learn by doing. “We’ve always been given the tools to succeed and been able to try things out,” she said.

As one of the members of Invitae’s software services and support team, Dan Rustan is quick to describe the work he does as “innovative.” Because the team is newer, it’s important for Rustan to tap into the support of his colleagues when the work gets tough. “They’re incredible at what they do, and they never give up; no challenge is too hard,” he said. When problems do arise, Rustan and his team shift their perspective. Rather than getting “bogged down,” they collectively uncover potential solutions.
