Technical Writer

Role Overview
Benchling is looking for an experienced Technical Writer who is passionate about documentation, information hierarchy, and knowledge base management. An excellent candidate will have professional experience in writing technical documents for internal/external audiences as well as managing content platforms.
Working on the Training and Enablement Team, this individual will write technical and field enablement resources for Benchling’s go-to-market teams. You will work closely with our Product Operations team to develop strategies that support our product release framework. You will also lead the development, writing, and delivery of product content resources.
What You Will Work On
- Plan, draft, maintain, edit, and publish content for internal and external audiences, including help articles, release notes, and user guides.
- Work with engineering, product, design, sales, and customer success teams to develop high-quality technical content for a targeted audience.
- Act as the lead in organizing and standardizing content on the internal Content Management System for various teams’ accessibility (e.g. structured metadata, internal and external knowledge base management).
- Partner with Benchling training and product operations teams to develop strategies that support the product release framework.
About You
- 3-4 years experience writing software documentation to support product release cycles at a SaaS company
- Experience creating automated documentation tools
- Experience with large information architecture projects
- Proficient in HTML and Markdown
- Experience working with R&D solutions/consulting providers, a plus
