Cyber External Client Assurance Manager
Cyber External Client Assurance, a component of Cyber within Capital One, is focused on risk and control management, technical capability validation, and compliance to cyber policies to address client's oversight of Capital One.
The organization is additionally responsible for supporting the governance activities to identify, assess, control, and manage cyber risk for services being contemplated for externalization by the Capital One organization.
Associates within Cyber External Client Assurance are highly-skilled information security, cyber, technology, or risk management professionals who have a wealth of experience and a demonstrated ability to self motivate in unknown environments while supporting appropriate control processes, and change management that ensure a well-managed organization.
This position will serve as the focal point for driving completion of assessment responses, client deal coordination, and developing frameworks for managing the expansion of new software or services and building solid relationships with our partners in this space.
This position will serve as a focal point for understanding the demands of product externalization, in conjunction to the client needs of these solutions. The demands and high-visibility nature of this position require an expert with a proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment who can begin contributing immediately.
Responsibilities:

  • Engage and understand client-facing assessments and processes for the Cyber organization to promote a professional response to client requests
  • Serve as the organization's focal point for identified risk of partnership deals and help prepare executives for participation in such engagements
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand the technical infrastructure of the externalized services or software, and highlight areas that may require additional control oversight based on product development roadmaps
  • Assist in drafting, scoping, and overseeing coordination of reports, or independent testing results for external consumption, or other internal or external bodies as appropriate
  • Engage with business customers looking to progress the completion of independent control programs where Cyber is a key component function


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 6 years of experience managing, consulting, or auditing in Information Security, Cyber, or Risk Management
  • At least 3 years of experience developing and managing internal governance processes and procedures
  • At least 2 years of experience drafting cybersecurity or IT reports or analytic assessments for senior executives or Board committees
  • At least 2 years of experience developing, analyzing, and reporting on cyber or IT risk metrics
  • At least 1 year of experience drafting or monitoring technology controls


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $163,300 - $186,400 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $173,100 - $197,500 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
