As a Data Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams and working for the Data Governance Program Manager to help improve data quality and protection, while reducing risk for the company.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Partner with cross-functional teams such as Security, Finance, Data, Engineering, and IT to achieve data governance OKRs.
  • Track execution metrics to communicate program health, using quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Resolve issues escalated from business and functional data governance representatives.
  • Track and work with teams to update global data policies, standards and rules, analytics and metadata tools, leveraging the Coinbase GRC tool when needed.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to help roll out data governance tools and administer tool-specific training programs across the company.
  • Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders and assist in ensuring execution roadmaps and compliance dashboards remain current as business needs or priorities or requirements change.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • 4+ years of experience architecting, managing, or improving data governance standards and practices.
  • Experience in audited environments within technology and/or financial services.
  • Experience collaborating on projects involving multiple teams, managing partner relationships, and presenting to various levels of stakeholders.
  • Passion for cryptocurrency, financial markets, and the Coinbase mission.

Nice to haves:

  • Financial technology industry experience.
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment with knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends.
  • Experience working directly with system architects to implement complex systems at scale.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake and cloud-native environments such as AWS.
