About the Role

The Data Analyst is a key team member supporting the business with reports and analytics to make quality, data-driven decisions. The Analyst will use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling, and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data.  We are looking for a driven, data-loving, team player that will jump in and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

What you'll do

• Partner closely with data and business teams and support them with high-quality reporting and analytics.
• Be a champion for data accuracy and consistent reporting.
• Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies.
• Use both descriptive and predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, underwriting as well as other business outcomes.

What we're looking for

• 2-4+ years of professional experience manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, complex datasets… all while making insights easy to consume for a general audience.
• Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on-premises and cloud-based data sources.
• Strong SQL skills; the ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries is the bare minimum.
• Advanced Tableau development skills with a track record of developing visualizations that drive and optimize business outcomes.
• Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating across teams. There is a heavy emphasis on cross-functional work and you must be able to deal with ambiguity and rapidly shifting priorities.
• Experience shaping questions asked by the broader business and answering them; these data-driven answers will facilitate and influence product strategy.
• Ability to thrive and succeed in a startup environment.
• A degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or other quantitative field is preferred.

Bonus Points:

• Fintech experience
• Previous experience with Google Cloud.
• Understanding of relational modeling and performance tuning along with the ability to write your own functions and/or stored procedures.
• R and/or Python coding skills.
• Hungry to learn and grow, especially from mistakes (we all make them)!
