As a Director of Software Engineering at GRAIL, you’ll enjoy working on a broad array of clinical data and genomic related software systems. We pride ourselves on building effective, efficient, easy to use, and scalable clinical-compliant software systems to address GRAIL’s many computational and automation related challenges.
You Will:
- Run the software engineering teams focused on developing commercially-focused software products such as Galleri.
- Head up product strategy discussions, analyzing and developing product-related architecture.
- Build and grow an excellent software engineering team.
- Participate in the development of development processes, architecture, and design.
- Driving best practices for commercial products. Leverage Agile and processes for the clinical market.
- Develop data-driven metrics that drive the success of commercial products.
Your Background Includes:
- Bachelors or Masters or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Data Science, AI, or similar technical field.
- At least 20+ years of industry work experience designing, developing and leading software products.
- Experience managing software development teams.
- Solid background and experience in dealing with genomic-data and commercial software.
- Experience architecting clinical-decision support and translational research applications.
- Experience working with a clinical SDLC/DHF to build and architect large-scale applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Prior experience being an architect or development director.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction.
- Collaborative team player.
- Demonstrated willingness to teach others and learn new techniques.
- Experience with AWS-based commercial systems.
- AWS certifications, especially Pro Solutions Architect.
- Experience with next-generation sequencing data analysis (DNA, RNA, or epigenetic analysis.)
- Excellent knowledge of general-purpose programming languages including C++, Java, Javascript, Python, Go.
