Principal Business Analyst
You’ll join our Business Analytics team reporting to our Director of Global Business Analytics in San Francisco. You will be in charge of providing analytics thought leadership for our growing RollWorks SaaS business. As a key member of a high-caliber team you will be responsible for developing and implementing various business analysis and data reporting initiatives to support RollWorks business objectives. Am I Eligible?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience.
- 6 or more years relevant experience developing and implementing analysis to resolve business problems - preferably at a consulting firm or fast-growing startup/technology company.
- Success managing and delivering multiple collaborative projects to senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively exert influence across teams without direct authority
- Strong spreadsheet data manipulation, modeling, and charting skills (Excel and/or Google Sheets).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau or its equivalent).
Bonus Experience:
- MBA.
- Experience at a software as a service (SaaS) company.
- Comfort with SQL for querying and manipulating data.
The impact you’ll make:
- Apply an in-depth knowledge and understanding of RollWorks business strategy and operations to identify and deliver relevant analysis and reporting to help set and achieve business objectives.
- Lead business metric definition and implementation to provide the executive team with regular, actionable insights and recommendations on key business drivers to support planning and decision-making.
- Turn ambiguous data and reporting requests from across the business into defined analytics projects by collaborating with cross-functional leads to collect and define business needs and objectives.
- Draft data requirements for analysis and reporting and lead cross-functional projects to determine and implement the means and methods for sourcing and formatting data, managing project scope and dependencies for on-time delivery.

- Structured thinker: Ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and well-defined action plans to facilitate alignment on key strategic decisions among various stakeholders and reach actionable answers without analysis overload.
- Analytical skills: Robust analytical skill set with a strong attention to detail that allows you to be self-sufficient in prototyping and implementing various analytics projects. Adept at developing and analyzing large, complex data sets and converting them into the information and insights that drive business decisions.
- Proactive: Capable of autonomously seeking out information, corralling resources, and delivering results. You know that done is better than perfect and continuous iteration is important.
- Good communicator: You are concise and able to communicate findings in a structured and clear manner both written and verbal to cross-functional colleagues at all levels within the organization.
- Leadership : Able to lead virtual teams and influence across business functions and work effectively with a diverse set of colleagues in a fast-paced startup environment. You are bilingual in both “business” and “data” and feel equally comfortable heads-down in data and heads-up leading cross-functional projects to completion.
