“The front page of the internet," Reddit brings over 430 million people together each month through their common interests, inviting them to share, vote, comment, and create across thousands of communities. Come for the cats, stay for the empathy.

We are looking for a Data Analyst to work with our Growth team as Reddit expands its user base to an international audience. By partnering with feature engineering teams and product managers, you will help shape the future of Reddit for users across the globe.

How You’ll Have Impact:

Today the majority of Reddit’s user base lives in the US. Reddit’s mission is to bring community and belonging to everyone in the world, which means we’ll be making a major push in 2020 to expand our audience internationally. In this role, you will be a key player in understanding how the experiences these new users differ from those of current Redditors, so we can make the site a better place for them.

What You’ll Learn:

As an analyst, you will become an expert in measuring and improving Reddit’s product-market fit for a global user base. You’ll be pivotal in finding effective user acquisition techniques and funnel that work for international users. You’ll also be a champion for them by evaluating performance of existing Reddit features for international users, as well as uncovering opportunities for new experiences that are personalized by geography and optimized for worse internet connections.

You will work side by side with a world-class org of Engineering, ML, Search, Data Science, Data Warehouse, and Analytics practitioners who work together to create a variety of capabilities for Reddit to be more successful in its decision-making and product creation. In this process, you will be exposed to a variety of new techniques in experimentation, statistical frameworks, machine learning, deep learning, and causal inference.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner cross functionally to help define the Growth team’s roadmap and initiatives
  • Analyze trends by country in Reddit communities, and convert it into insights that drive higher levels of active engagement
  • Build and design analytic infrastructure that help the Growth team tell detailed stories about how users outside of the US use Reddit
  • Design and evaluate A/B tests and product feature experiments to determine the effectiveness of product strategy
  • Define team metrics and goals and make them easily available through ETLs (extract/transform/load) and reporting dashboards

Who You Might Be:

  • 3-5 years of experience in quantitative analytical roles, preferably for growing at-scale consumer products outside the US
  • Proficiency with relational database (e.g., SQL)
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and programming languages (e.g., R / Python)
  • Results-oriented with a strong customer and business focus.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-directed, demonstrated ability to innovate and bias toward action in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to communicate and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to tackle ambiguous and undefined problems.
