The Cisco Meraki Creative Studio is seeking a passionate and talented creative director to join our marketing team! Meraki differentiates itself by emphasizing simplicity and ease-of-use through design. On this team, you will play a critical part in maintaining consistency, building our brand, and accelerating Meraki's growth. You have a high standard for quality and sweat the small stuff. You are constantly seeking new ways to improve your skills and hungry to grow as a designer and as a manager. In this role, you will lead with a tight-knit team of designers and collaborate with integrated marketers, digital marketers, product marketers, and content authors to create captivating and effective marketing materials.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR:
- Oversee the strategy and creative direction of the global Meraki visual brand, including the B2B and direct-to-consumer business
- Define, develop, and unite our visual identity and lead implementation for great user experiences through performance advertising, landing pages, and lifecycle emails
- Develop breakthrough creative for a variety of marketing touch-points including onsite banners, mobile web, social, video, digital ads, and more
- Develop culturally sensitive and appropriate executions that adapt regionally across a global audience
- Works cross-functionally, to balance the needs of stakeholders and able to break down complex narratives into simple, compelling ideas
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and outside agency partners to set the creative strategy to bring the brand to life across initiatives, channels and products. Use this strategy to guide the priorities and output of the creative team
- Partner closely with channel owners to build a consistent end-to-end creative experiences across marketing touch-points and mediums
- Develop iterative approach to creative to cultivate testing culture for creative assets to drive performance
- Mentor, manage, and inspire a cross-functional team of creatives
- Support assessing and onboarding creative tools and/or agencies to help scale creative to the needs of various channels (acquisition/retention as well as departments in Meraki that need creative services)
YOU ARE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU HAVE:
- 10+ years experience as a creative leader in agency or in-house creative/design management, with excellent D2C/B2B portfolio
- Experience across the full palette of creative expression: traditional, digital, experiential, and earned media
- 5+ years experience leading diverse team of designers, video production, photography, animators, UI/UX designers,, and production designers
- Experience with scaling creative design, copy, and video for testing and multi-market launches
- Excellent communication skills, and a sophisticated understanding of what should be communicated to different audiences and how to translate creative strategy into business performance
- Good working knowledge of industry-standard tools and software (e.g: Adobe Suite: Smartly and other DCOs, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Sketch, Invision, as well as Keynote)
- Led an in-house creative team that has developed creative campaigns for acquisition marketing in addition to brand marketing
