The Team
At Torch, the Product Department exists to create a product that allows us to understand our users and customers in a profound and unbiased way. What challenges do they face, what are their needs, what drives them, what excites them, what makes them do what they do?
As a Senior UX Researcher, you are energized by the opportunity to grow our research practice and shape our research principles and process. You'll work closely with product and design to identify impactful research questions, design and conduct studies, and deliver insights that influence our user experience and product strategy.
You'll employ a variety of research methodologies to reveal insights that enable Torch to create a high-functioning human-centered practice. This role will be reporting to the Director of Product Design.
Your position:

• Define and drive our research and analysis processes; qualitative & quantitative
• Design and execute studies that address user behaviors and attitudes, using the right methodology for the right questions.
• Deliver impactful research insights to cross-functional teams to build deeper user understanding and encourage empathy.
• Provide strategic and tactical insights that inform design and development as well as business initiatives; near & long-term
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Behavior Science, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Data) to identify research opportunities and share insights.
• Synthesize research to identify and help define product use cases and user personas
• Create narratives to frame problems and highlight the business value of potential solutions

Your experience:

• 5+ years work experience in UX and research
• Solid understanding of best practices for conducting research in product design, technology, and business contexts
• Ability to plan, design, execute and communicate both strategic and tactical research engagements
• Proven ability to craft, and lead research studies end-to-end for strategic and tactical user inquiries
• Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills
• Experience working in cross-functional teams (Product Design, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing)

Bonus:

• Understanding of the ecosystems of behavioral science, leadership, employee success, coaching, and/or workforce management
• Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Business or a related field
