Job Description

Team

Join a passionate, diverse and collaborative team of people working on ServiceNow build, cloud infrastructure, services and operations. This team helps engineering scale durably while increasing product velocity and further deliver on our mission. This is an opportunity to partner with our senior leadership team to own the build and release tools automation and improvement of our deployment pipelines and services as we build platform to make work, work better for people. As a leader, build and guide team to constantly improve engineering development processes by developing various tools and solutions.


What you get to do in this role:  

  • Responsible for the stability, integrity and performance of all development infrastructure environments including storage, servers, networking, virtualization, automation systems and all associated hardware and software solutions.
  • Manage and grow global and diversified teams within ServiceNow engineering organization. Lead execution of team deliverables, organize team processes, and work with the team leads to plan and achieve Objectives & Key Results
  • Own cloud hosting and automating our infrastructure as well as improving of our deployment pipelines and services.
  • Own cloud infrastructure, capacity planning, auto provisioning and security.
  • Drive engineering excellence by participating in code reviews, technical designs, and evangelizing software engineering best practices
  • Be a strong voice across engineering organization by uplifting engineering culture and improving engineering processes of the larger organization.
  • Grow the team by working with recruiting to identify and hire excellent and diverse engineering and leadership talent.
  • Work with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Release Managers and developers to plan and prioritize work. Work with Development organization to support and drive ServiceNow Tools & Engineering Productivity vision
  • Work closely with engineering and product leadership to set goals and landmarks to achieve that vision
  • Collaborate with internal feature development teams to understand their challenges and problems; obsess about making engineers more productive
     


Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • 12+ Years experience with large-scale enterprise software and engineering productivity
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and cannot imagine a world without it. 
  • Understand the importance of CI/CD in building high-performing teams
  • Ability to set the direction and lead a large team without a lot of oversight.
  • Experience presenting your ideas to influence other key team members, including executives and other product and engineering leaders
  • Ability to balance people management, cross-functional leadership, and technical details
  • Be comfortable letting your tech leads take true ownership of projects while keeping enough of an eye on things to make sure the train stays on the track
  • You know what makes a high performing team and have managed one yourself
  • Have familiarity with commonly used scripting language like Python, Groovy etc. and be able to review others’ code.
  • Experience deploying to and managing Amazon Web Services at scale
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Technical expertise in data infrastructure, cloud compute, storage systems, and distributed compute frameworks in multi-petabyte scale systems
  • Able to motivate, instill a strong sense of ownership, and build a culture of accountability in team
  • Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams and navigate technical ambiguity with only high-level direction
  • Openness to new or different ideas and ability to evaluate multiple approaches and choose the best one based on fundamental qualities and supporting data.
