We are looking for an engineering manager to lead our Client Platform Engineering team. This person will help build, maintain, and oversee our endpoint fleet across multiple OS platforms (macOS, Chrome OS, Windows) and across various hardware types (Mobile, Laptops, Desktops). The successful candidate will have previous experience and success in similar roles in rapidly growing environments. The right person is passionate about security, automation, metrics, and service oriented leadership. Willingness to “roll up their sleeves” while simultaneously planning for scale is critical to success with this role!
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Lead, mentor, and develop a rapidly expanding disbursed IT Engineering team
- Work with Security, IT, and other stakeholders to develop roadmaps, staffing plans, supporting processes, technology architectures, and tooling strategies
- Oversee endpoint fleet management automation, including operational, security, and compliance configuration of laptops and mobile devices, across multiple platforms
- Assist as needed across the System Engineering team around tooling, integrations and automation, including operational, security, and compliance configuration of systems
- Manage escalations and operational asks as it relates to System Engineering
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- Minimum of 3-4+ years management experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated success leading and scaling teams in a hyper growth environment
- Pragmatic balance between need for scale/process/execution /user experience
- Enterprise experience with JAMF and/or other endpoint management tools
- Previous experience managing fleet operations at scale
- Experience with administration of cloud based providers and tools
- Previous experience supporting complex integrations across systems
- Collaborative partnership style and demonstrated capacity for indirect influence
- Demonstrated ability to create order from chaos with minimal oversight
- Participate in IT incident management rotation
- Partner with audit teams around IT compliance requirements
- Oversee team change management processes
- Leadership background in Security or Engineering
- Passionate about partnering closely with Security
- Possess a growth mindset and passion for learning
- Able to deliver clear and concise communication
Nice to haves:
- Strong engineering experience and a passion for improving the end user experience
- Passion for automation and DevOps culture
- Proficiency with scripting in any of the following or similar languages (PowerShell, Ruby, Perl, Python, Bash)
- Familiarity with open source endpoint management tooling (Chef, Puppet, Munki, Autopkg)
- Previous experience with security tooling such as device encryption, anti-virus tooling, digital certificates, patching, and application allow/deny listing
