Fivetran is looking for a Partner Engineer to support our system integrator as well as big tech partners. A successful partner engineer is someone who has practical technical implementation experience, but also deeply enjoys working with people to solve problems. As a partner engineer, you will be the technical and product advocate for our partners. Through direct conversation, you understand their pain points and their future product needs. You promote those needs internally with our product, engineering, and business teams. You also understand the product catalog of our biggest cloud provider partners (AWS, Azure, GCP) and are always on the lookout for new ways to integrate Fivetran into those catalogs.

Fivetran is unique in that almost every sale involves a partner. Partnership at Fivetran is the lynchpin of our business. You will have the unique opportunity to be in a highly interactive, dynamic partnership ecosystem at a company where partnerships drive sales. 

In your past, you have been involved in implementing a software solution, preferably involving data warehouses and SQL. You may have been or have worked closely with data analysts and data pipeline engineers. Your technical competence is the backbone of this role, and your ability to seamlessly interface and build trust with partners is your secret weapon. 

This position will report to the Manager of Developer and Partner Relations in Oakland, CA. 

As a Partner Engineer at Fivetran you will:

• Be an internal advocate for the technical and product needs of Fivetran’s partners.
• Be a technical expert on the Fivetran product.
• Create content for and lead technical enablement sessions, from basics to advanced. 
• Manage the technical certification process for partners. 
• Work alongside Product to help prioritize Partnerships feature requests on the roadmap.
• Work alongside Sales Engineering to help Fivetran and our partners deliver for our customers. 

Your Qualifications:

• Practical experience as a software engineer or solutions architect with solutions implementation / coding experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the desire to share knowledge with the team and community.
• A team player: excellent at communicating with and investing in the team and the partner community for long-term healthy relationships.
