Seeking a senior leader who can run Product Security Engineering here at Wish encompassing product and user security (eg. detecting and preventing account takeovers, establishing product features to proactively protect users, building out data pipelines to detect and prevent bad traffic from polluting data, promo abuse, fraudulent payments, etc). Ideally the person we are looking for is someone who was involved in these types of operations at scale and in a senior capacity elsewhere and has the hands-on knowledge to be able to not only lead others and build out the team, but provide technical direction and implementation in the short term.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Detecting malicious traffic that is resulting in an account takeover or unauthorized access to a product feature or account
  • Securing accounts from abuse by building proactive account features
  • Auditing product features being built to determine vectors of attack (on data or exploiting them in ways unintended) and proactively building mechanisms to detect and stop them
  • Ensuring data integrity of product analytics from automated traffic
  • Reviewing any new features built to ensure they protect consumer privacy and security
  • Working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to identify any loopholes or vulnerabilities in current product features

Desired skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 4+ years building successful consumer facing software products
  • Experience owning enterprise cybersecurity products
  • Experience taking products from inception to launch to ongoing enhancements
  • Self-motivated and ability to motivate others. Lead through influence.
