For the COVID-19 public health crisis, Helix has built one of the nation’s largest COVID diagnostic labs and has been on the leading edge of national viral surveillance efforts tracking B.1.1.7 and other viral strains.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be a strong proponent of agile quality practices, automation, and a continuous integration methodology.
  • Work alongside software engineers in an agile environment.
  • Participate in requirements and design review meetings to create comprehensive test strategies/plans.
  • Work with the team developers to develop, document, and execute test cases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and robust execution of testing as part of a regular release schedule.
  • Be a trusted partner to the Regulatory team by collaborating with Regulatory Quality, Laboratory, and cross-functional departments to gather and implement regulatory and operational requirements for automation frameworks.
  • Design, create, enhance, and maintain detailed test cases and conduct testing.
  • Provide accurate planning, clear strategies, and milestones for testing, leading to successful implementation and timely project completion.
  • Report, track and escalate anomalies discovered during testing and ensure closure on issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and robust execution of testing as part of a regular release schedule.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and running quality improvement initiatives and automated testing frameworks.

About you:

  • 5+ years' experience with quality assurance with a focus on software testing, design control of software development, software verification and validation.
  • Ability to complete detailed documentation efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present issues, plans and objectives.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Golang, Typescript).
  • Experience with continuous integration platforms (e.g., CodePipeline, CircleCI, Jenkins, GoCD).
  • Experience with agile methodologies and automation-first engineering practices.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., xUnit, Cucumber, Gingko, Selenium, JMeter, k6, Locust).
  • Experience testing cloud-native, microservice-based, software architectures.
  • Experience testing serverless (e.g., AWS Lambda) and asynchronous (e.g., SQS) software architectures.
  • A passion for improving people’s lives through access to better information about their DNA.
  • A passion for helping build testing capacity for COVID-19.

Pluses:

  • Experience in medical, biopharmaceutical or device industries.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks including 21 CFR Part 11, 21 CFR 820, Medical Device Data Software (MDDS), GAMP 5, and HIPAA.
