The Fivetran security team is responsible for ensuring the continuous integrity, confidentiality, and availability of customers’ data. Our customers necessarily trust us with all their most sensitive information, and we consider maintaining that trust to be a critical, core component of our product and business.

Security Engineers are responsible for the architecture and development of frameworks, systems, and solutions to address current and future threats to the Fivetran product. These security concerns are ever-evolving, making the security team an extremely dynamic environment to work in.

As a Security Engineer at Fivetran you will:

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering orgs to guide product and system architecture
• Perform code reviews; partner heavily with distributed engineering teams
• Communicate and evangelize application security best practices
• Develop automation solutions (specifically around building/architecting the toolchain that will allow our engineers to develop secure code) 
• Conduct both static testing of code (in conjunction with manual code review) as well as dynamic testing / pen-testing 
• Lead the growth of the Application Security team

Your superpowers:

• Experience working on application security in a hands-on engineering capacity 
• Ability to apply application security best practices and frameworks to internal development practices (e.g. OWASP, ASVS)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proclivity to automation using Python or similar
• Good understanding of the web architecture, IP networking, cloud computing, and data confidentiality including cryptographic techniques
• Ability to uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design
• Ability to develop threat models and make nuanced threat assessments
