About the Role

Figure is looking for a Mortgage Specialist to join our growing Product team and help build a best in class Loan Origination System (LOS) built for Blockchain. The ideal candidate must have direct experience in the Mortgage Lending industry and thorough understanding of the process to approve, process and close a loan. This role will be responsible for partnering with Product and Mortgage stakeholders at Figure to design and translate Mortgage origination workflows to be implemented into Figure’s innovative LOS.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess Figure’s current LOS and identify operational efficiencies and workflow enhancements to build a best in class LOS
  • Work alongside Product and Engineering to implement workflow enhancements and automation in the origination process
  • Identify enhancements to the file flow, role structure, competencies and responsibilities across the Mortgage Operations teams and help implement them into the LOS
  • Expand Figure’s Mortgage specialization capabilities and develop training to roll out to the Mortgage Operations team
  • Continuously monitor the Mortgage pipeline to identify and analyze application fallout, pull through, underwriting and manufacturing qualify to identify opportunities for system enhancements or process changes
  • Collaborate with the broader cross-functional team, including Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Data Science, Design, and Operations to resolve issues and implement improvements to bring your ideas to life
  • Stay abreast of investor and agency changes to implement into the LOS
  • Own and maintain LOS process documentation and partner with Mortgage Operations to communicate and provide training on changes

What We Look For

  • 10+ years of Mortgage Lending experience
  • BS/BA preferred
  • Deep understanding of Mortgage disclosures, processing, underwriting, closing and post-closing
  • Experience with vendor relationship management and partner integrations (e.g Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, DocuTech, Ernst etc.)
  • Experience with mortgage regulations including TRID, HMDA and RESPA
  • Proven track record of building scalable processes in the Mortgage space
  • Proven success communicating cross functionally and building solid business relationships   
  • Ability to build and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Mortgage product development or strategy experience is a plus
