What is the Senior Accountant role? 

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting and Finance Team. In this role, you will be performing various day-to-day accounting activities and monthly close tasks including, but not limited to, accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and other miscellaneous analysis. You will also be assisting in system and process optimization projects and supporting the Accounting Manager in enhancing the Company's existing accounting procedures.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Process all Purchase Orders and AP invoices/transactions
  • Review all the employees reimbursements and ensure compliance with Reimbursement, Travel and Expense Policies 
  • Enter credit card transactions and reconcile accounts
  • Ensure all payments are timely and accurate, and comply with internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Manage vendor records, ensure compliance with 1099 reporting and record keeping (W-9s)
  • Maintain the Expensify software to add new accounts for new hires and update the expense reports approvers as needed
  • Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules
  • Perform various month-end closing responsibilities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and account variance analysis and explanations
  • Reconcile bank statements/accounts
  • Assist in the development and refinement of accounting policies & procedures and internal controls
  • Assist with annual audit and tax workpaper preparation
  • Assist in the implementation of new Accounting system (NetSuite)
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested 
  • Support for ad-hoc projects as necessary

Your background and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 5 or more years related accounting and finance work experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines, deliver results and be flexible in handling changing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong computer skills including but not limited to MS Office, Google Sheets, PEO Payroll system (i.e. Sequoia), Expensify and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Netsuite, SageIntaact, and other ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of equity software (Shareworks) and stock compensation expense process is a plus 
  • Accounting knowledge (GAAP), independent judgment, confidence, and good communication skill (both verbal and written).
