To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for an experienced finance professional to join our Strategic Finance team. The high-impact role will report to our Head of Strategic Finance and support our business leaders with financial insights and outlooks to make informed strategic and operational decisions. The Strategic Finance position will be an integral part of building the Finance team at a startup that’s growing and scaling quickly. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, motivated, and dependable—and will thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability.
Your impact
In the Strategic Finance role, you will collaborate closely with functional leaders throughout the organization and implement financial analyses and processes that are foundational to the Finance function.
In this role, you will:
- Build and drive key financial planning processes for the company’s operating expenses, including actuals, plan and forecasts.
- Serve as a business partner to our leaders in their strategic decision-making by providing key performance indicators and analyses.
- Create foundational financial models to forecast our business and provide insights to optimize our growth and performance.
- Support business performance reporting through the preparation of internal and external reporting packages.
- Play an integral role in implementing our financial forecasting system.
We’re looking for someone who
- Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
- Has 6+ years of experience in a top investment bank, management consulting firm, private equity firm, hedge fund, or finance role at a tech company, with a minimum of 2 years of tech experience.
- Ideally has formal training in financial and/or accounting concepts.
- Displays a high level of genuine curiosity about our business, asks lots of questions, and exhibits eagerness to learn.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills.
- Shows high aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem-solving that uses financial modeling, including strong skills with spreadsheets.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, including skills in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
- Comfort with handling large sets of data.
- Preferably is experienced with SaaS and/or enterprise software business models.
Bonus points for
- Experience with SQL.
- Familiarity with financial planning tools (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, and Hyperion).
- Experience with worksheet automation (e.g., VBA in Excel, JavaScript in Google Sheets).
