To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Tax Manager to join our Finance team. The Tax Manager will be working closely with the CFO, Controller, Accounting Manager, and our external tax service providers to lead and handle the compliance in multiple tax jurisdictions.
Your impact
As Grammarly’s Tax Manager, you will lead and build a team to develop, implement, maintain, and manage the company’s global indirect and direct tax compliance. You’ll own and scale US and international tax compliance, as well as sales and VAT tax compliance, and will be the go-to tax person for Grammarly. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, excited to work in a fast-paced organization, and ready to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure US and international tax filing due dates are met and are maintained in the company’s tax compliance calendar.
- Ensure compliance with all US and foreign tax requirements.
- Monitor existing and proposed legislative and regulatory US and global tax law developments, communicate the effects, and develop risk-minimization tax strategies.
- Document tax positions taken and review alternative tax positions to determine the most appropriate cost-effective filing position.
- Build a deep understanding of the business and its transaction flows to analyze potential tax implications and impacts.
- Manage income-tax provision calculations and related financial-statement disclosures.
- Facilitate analysis of R&D to qualify for R&D tax credits in different tax jurisdictions.
- Manage tax-related accounting and associated general ledger account reconciliations.
- Manage and participate in the development of software solutions for tax automation and process improvements.
- Build and maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
