The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced frontend architect to join our team to help build the future of work. Successful candidates will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to help them deliver awesome software that our customers love. You'll be instrumental in modernising our monolithic codebase into micro-frontends while re-platforming our product onto AWS.

Your Job ResponsibilitiesWhat you will be doing:

  • Working closely with function leads and architects to plan the technical execution of new products and major features.
  • Helping decompose our monolithic React SPA into multiple micro-frontends/npm packages.
  • Oversee the frontend aspects of re-platforming our product onto AWS. 
  • Writing TypeScript/React to support our core platform features.
  • Collaborate with the design team and other frontend leads to roll out our in-house component library across all our products.

Your SkillsetWhat makes you a great fit for the team:

  • You are user-focused. We solve our customers' problems together, and everybody has a say in planning, design, and execution.
  • You're a great communicator. This role will require you to lead discussions with multiple teams from different functions of the business. Presenting ideas and answering questions in open discussion is no problem for you.
  • You have a good track record of project leadership and software engineer mentorship.
  • You have proven excellence in writing readable and efficient TypeScript code.
  • You have 5+ years of React experience, a strong understanding of its internals, and a thorough knowledge of the wider JavaScript ecosystem.
  • You have 2+ years of experience operating at principal software engineer level or higher.
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of accessibility best practices, including WCAG 2.1 AA.
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of automated testing and CI/CD, including challenges specific to the frontend domain.
  • You have experience working with micro-frontends and associated technologies like federated modules and single-spa.
  • You are excited about working in a fast-paced startup environment.

We’d specially love to hear from you if:

  • You love identifying new technologies, patterns, and techniques and planning how to roll them out across teams to improve productivity, code quality, developer experience and user experience.
  • You have an affinity for profiling and analysing code to identify improvement areas and a solid understanding of browser internals.
  • You have experience building an in-house component library with a good understanding of modular CSS and bundlers.
  • You have worked on a SAAS product.
  • You have a good understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA.
