Who we are:

MasterClass is transforming online education by enabling anyone in the world to learn from the very best.  We are deconstructing what makes an actor able to cry on demand, how an athlete defies gravity, and what it takes to write a bestseller.  Our online learning content is available to students anywhere anytime, which supports our mission to ignite the greatness in others.

We are a quickly growing VC-funded startup based in San Francisco, with additional offices in Los Angeles.  We have created online classes taught by famous masters— Gordon Ramsay, Serena Williams, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sara Blakely, David Sedaris, Bobbi Brown, Timbaland, Anna Wintour and many more to come.

Since launching in 2015, we have been growing our team. Apply now to find out more about what we are doing behind the scenes.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated success in strategic talent or partner relationship management
  • An interest in handling the big picture and the minute details: an obsession with organization and maintaining deadlines while also keeping a pulse on the strategic priorities
  • Aptitude for creating and delivering operational excellence for clients or external partners
  • Expertise in balancing company and client needs; ability to effectively manage expectations
  • Proven track record for leading program and process improvements cross-functionally
  • A master communicator with capability to adapt their message to internal and external audiences
  • An out-of-the box thinker who thrives in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Key liaison for all operational interactions and management with talent (i.e. instructor) teams throughout the production, launch and ongoing relationship management
  • Primary communicator and coordinator for all talent-facing meetings and communication
  • Deepen relationships with instructors to support key company initiatives such as marketing and community opportunities, live events, and outreach to other prospective instructors
  • Advocate internally for talent needs and externally with talent to help enable optimal outcomes for both our talent partners and the MasterClass platform
  • An eye for creative problem-solving to manage unique and sometimes difficult high pressure instructor conversations and situations
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, content, creative and finance teams to optimize and build our instructor relationships to provide maximum value for both MasterClass and our Talent
  • Iterate on existing internal and external workflows to help scale and deliver best-in-class relationship and operational management with instructors
  • Broad account management oversight, including periodic instructor updates, payments, gifting

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of client-facing partner management, ideally with Talent
  • Proven track record of managing complex partnerships with a proactive mindset - identifying problems and implementing solutions without being asked
  • Experience with driving systemization and process development for cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills - able to communicate with nuance and empathy
  • Resourceful and solutions-oriented; impeccable program management skills and ability to lead people to get things done
  • Ability to work with a small interdisciplinary team and communicate effectively
  • Work full-time in our Los Angeles or San Francisco office
