About The Role: 

This role will be based in our San Francisco HQ and reports directly to the Head of HR. The Director of People Ops will be responsible for leading the North America Recruiting Team as well as partnering with our HR Generalist as the lead for HR Operations in North America. This role is a strategic partner for People Operations - adding structure, vision, and metrics as our organization scales to the next level. This leader will work to develop and manage these programs in partnership with our global People Operations team.


What to Expect in the Role: 

Recruiting Team Leadership 

  • Lead the strategic talent acquisition and evaluation of the North America recruiting function, strategies, and procedures in partnership with the People Ops Director in EMEA 
  • Own budgeting and resource allocation of recruiting tools and spend
  • Maintain a close working relationship with finance and the headcount team, assisting them in understanding current and future workforce planning requirements
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the North American Recruiting Team to ensure ongoing high performance
  • Manage vendor relationships, serving as the primary contact and administrator on current tools, while also researching new tools for the team to use


HR Operations Leadership

  • Identify areas of strategic and tactical improvements in HR processes, policies, and technologies; lead implementation of improvements with the team and enable cross-department collaboration 
  • In partnership with our HR Generalist, maintain and revise the company's handbook on policies and procedures, ensuring awareness and compliance 
  • In partnership with our HR Generalist, own and deploy our employee on-boarding experience for North America, including supporting benefits-related questions 
  • Actively support employee professional growth 
  • In partnership with People Ops Leadership, conduct salary reviews, support employee relations discussions, and recommend discipline and termination as appropriate 


REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this position, you must have: 

  • Minimum 5 years HR program management experience
  • Minimum 5 years Recruiting experience 
  • Minimum 3 years leading a team of 3+ people
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, HRIS, and self-service automation 
  • Excellent influencing skills at all levels of the organization 
  • Flexibility to be proactive in a fast-paced ever-changing environment 
  • Competence in making timely, effective, principles-based decisions 
  • General understanding of various employment laws and their impact on Recruiting and HR matters 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Bachelor’s degree required 


Bonus points for: 

  • Master’s degree in HR, I/O Psychology, or related field 
  • Experience with preferred platforms: Greenhouse, BambooHR and/or CultureAmp
