Our user base has doubled in the last year alone, and we have paid over $2 billion directly to creators on our platform. In order to support this level of growth, Patreon is looking for a Director Total Rewards & Workforce Analytics to join our People team.
The Director of Total Rewards & Workforce Analytics will develop compelling executive and broad-based compensation programs which allow us to attract, engage and retain the talent needed to power our business strategy. They will also lead our Workforce Planning and Analytics function to support our continued growth and scale. This role will partner with the Chief People Officer to secure executive team and Board support for programs and practices anchored in Patreon's mission, vision, long-term strategy and values.
What you would do:

  • Manage the strategic review, design, implementation, and communication of our total rewards philosophy and programs.
  • Provide specific recommendations and plans that will enhance our ability to attract, motivate, and retain talent at all levels, across the world and drive its strategic and operational objectives.
  • Drive us towards innovation in our programs where appropriate to deliver continuous improvement to our people experience with compensation and total rewards.
  • Partner closely with senior management, the board, and appropriate consultants to ensure the company has a competitive and progressive, comprehensive and cost-effective approach to compensation offerings.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to senior management on existing and emerging compensation trends and competitive intelligence• Lead the development of communication plans, materials and presentations on our employee plans and processes to drive efficacy, understanding and appreciation, as well as communicate the correlation of the plans with our business strategies.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to key stakeholders on all matters related to workforce planning, leveraging best in class analytics and insights. Lead and drive our ongoing workforce development practices including location strategy, layers and spans and job architecture efforts.
  • Partner closely with finance on all matters related to headcount management and reporting. Ensure regular, ongoing visibility to headcount and workforce trends and manage special projects as needed. Partners closely with Finance and Legal to ensure we meet compliance requirements for all of our programs and practices.
  • In partnership with the Chief People Officer, work with the external compensation consultant to the Compensation Committee on the design and implementation of Board of Directors and Executive Compensation programs; develop agenda, prepare materials and presentations for Compensation Committee meetings.• Partner with Legal, Finance and the external Compensation Consultant (when applicable) to develop the Compensation Discussion and Analysis.
  • Build and effectively lead an exceptional Total Rewards and Workforce Analytics team; ensure they are technically strong, possess a high level of business acumen, are effective partners and capable of delivering results on time and at quality. • Foster the development of talent, ensuring their ongoing skill and career development.


Skills you possess:

  • • 12+ years global experience leading a Total Rewards practice (including EMEA and APAC), gained from an organization with a high degree of growth and complexity. Comprehensive experience in a public company in a similar role preferred.
  • Proven experience working closely with a Compensation Committee of a Board as well as external compensation consultants.
  • Executive compensation experience required.
  • Experience designing company-wide compensation and workforce plans and ensuring correlation with the business strategy.
  • Strong process and system improvement mindset, with the ability to lead the team towards continuous improvement and delivering a strong people experience.•
  • Knowledgeable on legislation impacting pay programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading pay equity efforts and reporting, maintaining awareness of economic and pay practice trends within industry.
  • Solid foundation in compensation theories and practices.
  • Knowledge in SOX and regulatory compliance a plus.•
  • People Leadership: exceptionally strong people leader with ability to nurture talent; provide feedback and coaching; manage performance and deliver results through others.•
  • Business Acumen: knowledgeable about external business trends and are able to translate them into internal decisions and actions. You understand general business conditions (e.g., social, technological, economic, political, environmental and demographic trends) that affect our industry and geography.•
  • Strategic and Analytical Capability: ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively. Effectively translates data into actionable insights, strategies and financial plans with a phenomenal attention to detail
  • Effective Communication: communicates clearly and effectively with employees at all levels, board members, People Partners and external consultants. Strong verbal and written presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way and to tailor key messages and presentation style to multiple audiences.
  • Influence and Collaboration: builds and sustains collaborative relationships at multiple levels in the company. Able to work through complex disagreements and conflict to achieve resolution. Builds trust by including others, navigating tough tradeoffs/nuances, and keeping cross-functional teams focused on company-first mindset.
