ContextLogic Inc. d/b/a Wish (“Wish”) is looking for an Associate Counsel, Intellectual Property who can contribute to our growing Legal team and work on complex issues in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role will help advise various internal teams on trademark, copyright, patent, and related issues, including as they relate to IP prosecution, enforcement, clearance, and litigation.

The ideal candidate is: highly organized; able to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams; able to plan and execute projects of all sizes and durations; knowledgeable in or strongly interested in learning about U.S. and international IP law; naturally curious and a regular user of e-commerce apps; an effective researcher able to develop creative solutions to challenging issues; and comfortable pitching in on any legal task or project with a “no task too big or small” attitude.

This role will report to the Associate General Counsel, Intellectual Property.

What You'll Do

• Develop and/or help administer Wish’s IP prosecution programs and clearance strategies
• Review and advise on third-party trademark filings that relate to the various Wish brands
• Manage issues related to third-party IP litigation brought against Wish sellers
• Analyze products available on the Wish platform for compliance with various IP laws
• Research, strategize and advise on internal and external IP policies
• Educate internal partners on key legal, policy, and other considerations to ensure timely performance and compliance with various legal obligations

Minimum Qualifications

• J.D. (or foreign equivalent) with membership in at least one U.S. state bar
• 1-3 years of legal experience either in-house or with a reputable law firm
• Experience advising clients or internal stakeholders on complex legal issues
• Comfort with various technical tools and systems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to professionalism
• Sense of humor and ability to not take yourself too seriously

Preferred Qualifications

• In-house experience at a consumer-facing technology company
• Comfort with reviewing large volumes of materials within queue-based systems
• Some experience advising on marketing or related issues
• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage numerous cases and/or projects under time-sensitive deadlines
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, innovative and demanding environment
