We are looking for a highly motivated attorney to serve as Regulatory Counsel in our growing Regulatory team. You will collaborate closely with finance and compliance to work on novel legal issues. 

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Advise on state money transmission obligations, including working with cross-functional stakeholders in Finance and Compliance
  • Be the primary point of contact for state banking regulators in conjunction with MTLs
  • Provide lending law expertise in conjunction with the acquisition and maintenance of state lending licenses
  • Advise on regulatory issues related to payments and remittances
  • Legal work for various regulatory licensing projects
  • Provide creative, innovative, and effective legal solutions for business stakeholders on routinely short timelines.
  • Be an outstanding collaborator with colleagues in legal, finance, accounting, compliance, tax and business operations.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Approximately five or more years of relevant regulatory experience, preferably at a fintech company 
  • Excellent project management, writing and time management skills
  • Excellent judgement, analytic rigor, and business pragmatism.
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves (no job too big, no job too small).
  • Must be active and in good standing in one State Bar in the United States, preferably in California or New York.
