About the Role

We are searching for an experienced global marketing strategist, planner, and story-teller to drive the brand and lead integrated marketing initiatives for the MasterClass brand. This highly complex, cross-functional role will be responsible for leading team in the development and management of global integrated campaigns across all paid, earned, and owned channels for MasterClass.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Brand Marketing, the Director of Brand is responsible for developing world-class multi-channel advertising and campaign strategies that creates differentiation and conversation in the marketplace. You will develop a clear, approachable creative that connects with culture, speaks to trends and amplifies the MasterClass brand. Our ideal candidate has a deep background in consumer marketing. You are exceptional at brand development, a creative and strategic thinker, and a strong executor with meticulous project management skills.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for MasterClass brand and product and a proven track record of helping world-class brands grow through campaigns, activations and partnerships..

Responsibilities 

  • Drive strategy, budget and execution of breakthrough marketing campaigns that build awareness, affinity and drive growth globally
  • Craft marketing strategies and insights driven campaign briefs that inspire brand defining work.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within marketing and the broader organization to align on annual seasonal calendar, marketing messages and creative approach
  • Work closely with channel owners and media partners to deliver on brand and organizational targets 
  • Oversee creative testing and asset optimization to maximize media spend
  • Work with PR/communications to align brand messaging and campaign approach across media and owned channels
  • Partner with Research and Insights team to surface key member insights that will drive increased connection with consumers. Work collaboratively and effectively with agency partners and our internal creative team to brief, review and refine creative work in line with strategic objectives
  • Prepare and present progress against goals and relevant marketing metrics to team, cross functional groups and management

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience driving large scale global marketing programs for world-class consumer brands. Plus 5 years of management experience
  • Strong background of creative leadership and storytelling, with a strong portfolio of brand and partnership campaigns.
  • Proven experience achieving business objectives and working within a complex environment to hit deadlines
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and executional level; ideate and directly execute
  • Has a natural ability to collaborate well with others across the organization and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly-fluid environment
  • Keen ability to translate complexity into simple, clear communication
  • Strong understanding of media mix; experience across multiple geographies, marketing channels and mediums
  • Ability to get the best out of creative partners (agency & internal)
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to express your ideas and influence cross-functionally at all levels
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude
