About the Role

To further this mission, we’re looking for a product marketing leader to grow and develop our Consumer product marketing team. As Director of Product Marketing for Consumer, you will be responsible for architecting our core Consumer product marketing strategy and for driving its success through the end-to-end marketing of DoorDash products and solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with product and business leadership to define new products that provide consumers with greater access to goods and services from their local economy. You’ll work across in-app, CRM, and paid marketing channels to encourage adoption of those products and services with new and existing DoorDash customers. As a leader, you’ll develop and grow your team by raising the bar for impact in this new function.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating at highly strategic and tactical levels, switching between them effortlessly. You won’t be afraid to roll-up your sleeves and own the success of a lunch. You will be deeply grounded in audience insights through partnership with research and by driving original research to better understand the needs of DoorDash customers. You will leverage those insights to build consensus and form trusted relationships to influence the direction of the product and business roadmaps. You will thrive on analytics and set a learning agenda for all projects that raises the bar for impact against engagement and business goals. 

This role is based out of our San Francisco or New York headquarters and reports to the head of Product Marketing. 

What You'll Do

  • Hire and develop a best-in-class product marketing team to drive impact across the consumer product portfolio; laying out a vision and scaling the function
  • Define a consumer product marketing strategy to encourage adoption of new features like DashPass and Pickup as well as new verticals like convenience and grocery
  • Partner with research and analytics to build and act on customer segmentation; defining new opportunities to grow order frequency and clear target audiences for existing DoorDash features
  • Build a trusted partnership with product and business leaders on the consumer team to influence the product roadmap to deliver on customer needs through new features and programs
  • Establish infrastructure to monitor and regularly report on consumer perceptions of DoorDash and to track campaign performance
  • Lead your team and drive campaigns that contribute direct bottom line impact on revenue and volume
  • Define and manage comprehensive go-to-market plans including development of product positioning, communication of value proposition, launch strategy, and in-app marketing strategy

Qualifications

  • BA, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of professional experience in marketing in a corporate or startup environment
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing and developing talent
  • Experience building teams and departments from the ground up
  • Proven track record of driving successful go-to-market launches that drive adoption and bottom line impact
  • Fluency with data - including market/segment sizing, forecasting, and working with analytics to understand efficacy of campaigns before and after the fact
