ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Marketing Activation team is looking for an experienced, creative, results-driven Field Marketing Director to lead a team of Field Marketing and Experiential Managers. Overall duties will revolve around marketing program development and execution, business analysis, with an emphasis on project and people management. Our ideal candidate has a proven track record developing integrated marketing programs that drive sales, increase trade loyalty and consumer awareness. 

The ideal candidate comes from an emerging consumer category (e.g. CPG, F&B, beer/spirits, consumer electronics) where both end-user and retailer education play an outsized role.

As the PAX Field Marketing Director, you will:

Lead a team of Field Marketing Managers to partner with sales to plan and execute integrated programs that drive quantifiable sales via:

- Planning: Lead the planning, development of annual local sales and marketing plans

- Brand Partner Engagement: Partner with brand partners to develop co promotions to amplify investments 

- Budtender Education and Advocacy:Identify, train and incentivize the most influential budtenders 

  • Leverage PAX POS to drive awareness, distribution and awareness
  • Templatize in-store programs (such as demo days and in-store sampling) for widespread execution by PAX’s internal sales force and brand partners
  • Oversee PAX budget, and manage event spends in line with this budget.
  • Oversee all Field Marketing Managers annual budgets to ensure spends are in line with department budget
  • Create, compile and manage monthly field insights recap to be shared with PAX organization 
  • Track competitor activities to prepare counter marketing plans; analysis and qualitative and quantitative research
  • Manager one Experiential Marketing Manager to partner with sales and FMMs to plan and execute trade show programs that drive awareness for PAX brand and new products including but not limited to:
    • MJ Biz Con
    • Hall of Flowers
    • Champs
    • Ad Hoc B2B events

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU

  • 10 years field/retail marketing experience, ideally at a branded consumer company (e.g. CPG, F&B, beer/spirits, consumer products or electronics, etc.).
  • People leadership. Experience developing direct reports and helping them advance their careers within an organization.
  • Analytical. Must use analytical rigor and data to support recommendations (ROI and payback analyses, volume and spending projections) and build/track PAX’s Activations budget.
  • Sales Collaboration. Experience working directly with sales to implement and execute new programs
  • Travel required. Willingness to be on the road at least 25% of the time.

 EDUCATION

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
