Role Description

Dropbox’s Global Marketing team develops and activates the programs, tactics and initiatives designed to build brand preference, drive profitable ARR growth and improve adoption and retention for all of our audience segments, across all products and all routes to market (self service/B2C and Sales&Channel/B2B). If you are someone who appreciates both the beauty and complexity of SaaS marketing, this is a unique role with an outsized impact.

As a member of the Marketing Leadership Team (MLT) reporting directly to the VP Global Marketing, you will help define our strategy, ensure we have the people, resources and processes to succeed and manage the successful execution. You will define and manage the rhythm of the organization and coordinate delivery of a complex slate of monthly/quarterly results and proactively connect the dots ensuring all marketing functions remain aligned and focused. You will partner closely with HR and Finance business partners to ensure critical operational processes are optimized and working effectively for the function.  As a trusted thought-leader and representative of the Marketing organization, you will extend our reach and impact.

You are a sharp, analytical thinker who is comfortable creating structure and paving paths through ambiguity.  You are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while also motivating and developing a diverse team. Yet, your colleagues say that communication may be your superpower. You build strong relationships, help teams align on the problem and get progress unstuck. You are an expert story teller with the ability to distill complex, transformative marketing initiatives and ideas into compelling communications for different audiences ensuring that, organization-wide, there is needed understanding, commitment and buy-in.

The Global Marketing function is highly cross-functional and your ability to build strong working partnerships across the organization is critical to success. You consistently focus on results, even under challenging circumstances and work to optimize processes for on-going success. You’re seen as approachable, collaborative, and non-political by your stakeholders and peers. You operate with high integrity and seek first to understand - you care about fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

Responsibilities

The Impact You'll Have

  • Work directly with the Global Marketing leader and the MLT ensuring strategy remains aligned with company objectives and execution of programs and initiatives remain on track
  • Lead priority cross-functional initiatives and programs designed to drive profitable business growth; proactively working to connect the dots across functions and teams to keep team members and stakeholders aligned, informed and progress on track
  • Drive the on-going cross-functional campaign planning (including product launch moments) resource allocation and execution processes including regular readouts on results and learnings. Ensure needed visibility into resource planning and that all Marketing teams remain aligned and focused throughout execution
  • Be Marketing’s operational leader for our critical resource management—directing needed operational activities with HR and Finance, ensuring data accuracy, and optimizing processes to work effectively for MLT and the marketing function
  • Support MLT through all strategic and operational planning cycles, clearly articulating priorities and corresponding people and dollar investments
  • Lead the preparation and review of all communications about Marketing’s strategy, initiatives, progress and results—monthly, quarterly and ad hoc.
  • Develop the goals for and preparation of Marketing all hands experiences (virtual and offsite)— advising on agendas, guiding the content development, facilitating discussion and ensuring follow ups on action items
  • Continue to scale Marketing’s impact through regular review, design and optimizations of organizational rhythms, tools and processes
  • Build strong working relationships with cross-functional leaders, business partners, functional Chiefs of Staff and team members to facilitate agile cascade of information, collaboration and problem solving

Additional Perks + Benefits

In order to be successful in our Virtual First environment we needed to make changes that would allow employees to have more control over both where and how they work. Therefore, we embrace “non-linear workdays” with defined core collaboration hours that overlap across time zones. Beyond that, we encourage employees to design their own schedules to balance collaboration with needs for individual focus. We’ve also moved from “all day syncs” to an “async by default” culture, reserving meetings for discussion, debate, and decision-making, and handling all other work in our deep focus hours.
