Personalization Marketing Manager
ABOUT THE ROLE:
You will assist in building out Udemy’s Personalization function. Using data and consumer insights, you will identify important behaviors and moments in a customer’s lifecycle. With the partnership of and feedback from cross-functional partners (creative team, email and onsite channel owners, product, etc.), you will make recommendations on when/where to reach students, and the right messaging/content strategies to achieve our goals. Your work will support the team’s pursuit of improving customer experience, driving loyalty and business performance, and impacting long-term value for Udemy students.

You are laser-focused on the customer and delivering positive experiences that align with Udemy’s goals and mission. You are a creative thinker, capable of putting yourself in the mindset of the customer, and developing messaging strategies to reach them. You are organized and comfortable managing deliverables for multiple projects at a time. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset and be comfortable working with data, an understanding of consumer marketing best practices within the B2C space, and a strong bias for action.

Here's what you'll be doing:
- Develop expertise on our buyers, who they are, how they buy, and their key buying criteria; propose relevant messaging at different points in the student journey
- Compose creative briefs that clearly communicate business objectives and best practices
- Work closely with the creative team to identify and implement innovative messaging to drive conversions at scale
- Identify trends and develop new insights in customer communications, recommend/execute responses to optimize campaign performance, customer value and retention
- Propose new and outside-of-the-box ideas to help lifecycle programs drive results
- Understand and evaluate existing programs and recommend improvements
- Think big-picture about personalization; partner with data science to build the intelligence enabling us to personalize communications and touchpoints across countries, user segments, category affinities, etc.
- Partner with email and onsite channel teams to QA new programs, ensuring they are accurate across channels: on-site, email, mobile web and mobile app
We’re excited about you because you have:
- 4+ years experience in consumer marketing, with demonstrated experience implementing programs through email, onsite, and push channels
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with colleagues at all levels
- Experience reviewing creative (copy, imagery, design) and providing clear feedback for improvement
- Strategic thinker with excellent critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and efficient with the ability to rise to the occasion under tight timelines and pressure
- Comfortable driving results and growth in-line with company objectives and goals
- Experience with A/B testing and optimization, including iterative content testing
- Experience at an online marketplace or tech company desired
- Demonstrated experience partnering with product, data science, and engineering stakeholders to deliver results strongly desired
