Senior Manager, Paid Search
ABOUT THE ROLE
Udemy’s paid search team is at the forefront of our customer acquisition efforts, contributing to Udemy’s mission of improving lives through learning by reaching and inspiring potential new students to learn through our platform. We’re looking for an exceptional Paid Search marketer who will shape the strategy and drive the execution of the channel. The Sr. Manager of Paid Search will be responsible for leading a talented team of paid search marketers in managing all things related to campaign management, reporting, analysis and innovation of Udemy’s paid search channel. This person will also lead the paid search team’s cross-collaboration efforts with Data Science, Brand, Product, Engineering and other Marketing functions to drive forward the projects that will allow us to continue scaling our paid marketing efforts efficiently.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Lead, develop and grow a team of exceptionally talented paid search marketers to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual performance goals
- Work with Data Science, Product and Engineering to get the data and tools needed by the team to drive efficiencies for the channel
- Define the strategy and key projects for paid search, in alignment with Udemy’s overall company strategy, that will deliver key business results and provide best in class user experiences
- Track and analyze campaign performance across our Google Ads and Bing accounts and present channel insights to internal stakeholders
- Keep up-to-date with paid search best practices and industry trends, bring fresh and innovative ideas to the team and respond swiftly to changes in the SEM landscape in order to capitalize on new opportunities
- Drive a culture of rigorous experimentation amongst the team that translates into continuous insights and performance improvements from ad copy, landing page, bidding and audience tests
- Collaborate with the rest of our user acquisition channels to identify and implement cross-channel initiatives.
- Work with external partners,ad agencies and with our Google and Bing account teams
WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE
- 8+ years of performance marketing experience, including hands-on SEM experience
- 3+ years of experience building and managing high performing marketing teams
- Proven track record of managing large SEM accounts and monthly budgets of $500k+
- A team-oriented mindset and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and a strong disposition for data-driven decision making
- Creative problem-solving skills and experience with A/B testing
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of effective cross-functional collaboration
- A drive to improve processes and increase operational efficiency
- Strong knowledge of Google Ads, Bing Ads, Google Analytics, SQL and Excel
- A passion for online education and consumer internet products
- Experience working in an e-commerce, online marketplace environment preferable
