Senior Marketing Evangelist

Product Marketing is a technical function. Audience Marketing is non-technical. Bridging that gap can be challenging, with the risk being missed opportunities to present customers with innovative new solutions to their challenges, presented in creative ways that get the attention we’re looking for. Doing this well requires an understanding of both what the customer is experiencing (trends/dynamics by vertical), and what we have available, and upcoming, with the Meraki portfolio or products, solutions and even application partnerships. There is also potential to consider broader solutions that include those from across the broad Cisco portfolio!
The primary goal of this position is to help improve the reach and efficiency of Meraki by evangelizing how we help connect customer pain points with Meraki products, features and solutions and leading the communication of the Meraki magic internally and externally. This role will be based in SF Bay area and report into the Head of Market Strategy.
What You'll Do
- Maintain vertical expertise through constant interaction with Audience Marketers
- Maintain cross-portfolio expertise through constant interaction with Product Marketers
- Maintain Meraki, Tech Partner and Cisco solutions awareness through constant interaction with Solution Marketers
- Develop evangelism channels (web, comms, media, etc.) through collaboration throughout the marketing organization
- Maintain close collaboration with Customer and Content marketing teams
- Develop in messaging strategies in collaboration with AR/PR team
Outputs and Ownerships
- Meraki Quarterly webinar
- Meraki Unboxed podcast
- Strategic positioning for Meraki brand, category (e.g. SD-WAN Edge) through various channels and content
- Liaison with and advocate for the Meraki technical community, via social, Meraki Community and other channels
- Develop and maintain a library of vertical use cases based on products and solutions
Who You Are
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to support:
- Audience / Products / Solutions research
- Presentations - virtual and in-person events, webinars
- Content creation skills across multiple media
- Liaison with senior stakeholders in Meraki and across Cisco
- Technical aptitude, with ability to articulate benefits to less technical audiences
- Customer-centered approach
- Creative / storyteller, in terms of conveying acquired knowledge both within and outside Meraki
- 10+ years of networking product marketing and/or audience marketing experience
