Senior Manager, Brand Insights


Reporting to the Director, Brand Insights, the Senior Manager, Brand Insights, will lead all quantitative research initiatives at MasterClass in order to answer key business questions for the brand as well as other parts of the organization. This role will scale & build existing and ongoing tracking / quantitative projects, as well as proactively and strategically design, build, launch, and socialize new initiatives from end to end.  You will serve as the voice of the consumer, using research and data to do so.  The ideal candidate has strong statistical and analytical background, with the ability to run multiple projects at a time and is an effective communicator. They will be a strong connector with the ability to effectively collaborate and use research & insights to drive high impact, high visibility cross-functional work. 


Responsibilities

  • Build and scale in-house primary research practice, with a lean towards quantitative as well as cultural / consumer insights
  • Design and deliver strategic research projects with key internal stakeholders, connecting insights across the organization
  • Distribute, manage, analyze, and socialize all primary research, often with tight turnarounds
  • Scale standard offerings and methodologies for efficient and effective research
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, content, talent, product, and other parts of the organization to build research that answers key business questions
  • Ability to design and evolve questionnaire templates, as well as distribute surveys via panel providers (eg Lucid)
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership for Brand Insights team
  • Strong pulse on consumer & cultural insights, and the ability to translate this to action
  • Create and present thoughtful plans to the broader marketing team ensuring that cross-channel partners have the detailed information needed for successful launches across Brand led initiatives.  


What skills do I need? 

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Statistics, Marketing, or related field
  • 8+  years of experience in consumer-focused primary research role (preferably at a market research or strategy agency / consultancy, media / entertainment / streaming company, or technology company)
  • Strong pulse on consumer & cultural insights
  • Quantitative research experience
  • Experience partnering directly with Qual Research, UX Research and Data / Analytics teams
  • Ability to work in a quick-moving environment and prioritize projects while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, organization and communication  skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, work effectively cross-functionally
  • Confidently have a recommendation or strong POV on best practices and methodologies
  • Experience with managing multiple research projects at a time
  • Excellent communicator, attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations and to problem solve
  • Prioritize projects and manage time accordingly
  • SPSS, Survey tools, Excel and other analytical tools is a must
  • Knowledge of Iterable and Lucid is a plus
  • Experience with market research in multiple countries / regions is a plus
