As a Technical Product Marketing Manager at CircleCI, you will be an integral part of optimizing our technical product marketing practices to help demonstrate our competitive advantage to a highly intelligent and technical audience. To be successful in this role, you will need to brush up on all things CI/CD and collaborate cross functionally to communicate CircleCI’s value to drive adoption and use of our platform. This position is perfect for someone who is looking to grow their career in product marketing within a fast-growing start-up environment.

About Product Marketing at CircleCI

As part of the Marketing team, Product Marketing owns the development and execution of our feature releases and go-to-market strategy, product positioning and value proposition development, buyer personas, customer insights, competitive analysis, and sales & field enablement content and programs. We work in cross-functional teams, love to talk to customers, use data and user research to drive our decision making, believe in delivering quickly, measuring our results, and constantly refining our approach. We prioritize work that delivers the most impact across customer-facing touchpoints and is measurable and achievable.

What you’ll do:

  • Become a product and domain expert for CircleCI:
    • Collaborate with product managers to understand the ins-and-outs of our feature set and capabilities. Act as a technical advisor for key marketing initiatives.
    • Drive and own go-to-market (GTM) activity for minor release efforts and test new approaches and channels for increasing awareness and engagement.
    • Scope upcoming feature opportunities for our full scale GTM efforts. We’ll look to you to distill and communicate why our CI/CD capabilities are relevant and competitive in the DevOps landscape.
  • Work across teams:
    • Partner closely with our Internal Technical Trainer to create, refine, and evolve our technical content and training programs for customer-facing teams.
    • Partner with customer engineers to identify core principle differences, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities across our competitive landscape. Develop compelling content and consult in competitive programs.
    • Drive product feature advocacy engagements across our product and community/dev advocate teams.
    • Collaborate with product and content teams to create and manage a compelling set of technical content and tools to drive feature awareness and customer success. Examples of your work should include but not limited to landing pages, battlecards, info sheets, integration guides, videos, FAQs, tutorials, etc.
  • Maintain feedback loops and track success metrics:
    • Provide feedback to refine and evolve our audience personas which inform the positioning, messaging, and value proposition of our platform and upcoming features.
    • Define measurable success. Own reporting and analysis for those success metrics. Drive for results and use data to measure progress.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of work experience in product marketing, product management, engineering, sales enablement, or experience marketing a technical product.
  • Fast learner with the ability to explain and distill information of technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience in a B2B technology company (preferably in the DevOps space or related fields)
  • Strong attention to detail and a capacity to set priorities and work within deadlines.
  • Sharp writing skills, excellent storyteller and communicator. Please be able to provide some writing samples.
  • Passion for our mission, our technology, and our innovative approach
  • Work out of the San Francisco office; limited travel required

Bonus points!

    • Familiarity with the software developer community and ecosystem
    • Developer marketing experience a huge plus
    • Software development experience or familiarity with CI/CD
    • Graphic design and/or video production skills
