Head of Atlassian University
Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.
Atlassian University is a rapidly growing customer training platform and experience, catered to educating our 170,000+ customer ecosystem with millions of active users, on the latest capabilities and skills they can develop using Atlassian’s industry leading products such as Jira, Confluence, Trello and Bitbucket.
Our goal is to help unlock the next level of career development for our champions, by helping them learn and showcase a depth of expertise in implementing workflows, automation, team practices, systems, and integrations on the most expansive collaboration platform for all types of teams.
Atlassian University develops a broad range of experiences to deliver self-paced, live-online e-learning, and in-person training content, with both in-product and in-person learning pathways and interaction designs. Our training curriculum, content experiences, platform integrations, badging, and certification, cater to the learning interests and demands of knowledge workers in the modern digital workplace.
The Role & Team
As the Head of Atlassian University, you will run the global strategy and execution for training our customer champions, with a focus on diversity of content and range of delivery formats - meeting the customer where they are and helping them to expand their expertise in Atlassian’s products and solutions.
Atlassian University’s student personas and expertise span the range from introductory knowledge and skills of early product evaluators, to getting hands on with learning and on-boarding into enterprise ‘jobs-to-be-done’ concepts, to showcasing deeper knowledge around solutions recipes, outcomes, and experiences.
You will lead multiple teams that are globally responsible for Training Delivery, Instructional Design, Skills badging and Certification, Education Business Development, Learning Technologies, and Creative Design UX, to create a cohesive set of experiences.
Atlassian University is a key driver for expanding product reach to new users via education initiatives, and you will partner frequently with Product Marketing, Event Marketing, Atlassian Community, Atlassian Solutions Partners, and 3rd party Partnerships, to engage audiences in multiple online and offline venues, expanding customer education interactions with content created and supported by Atlassian University, and over time evolving the measurement of analytics in how University contributes to the growth of the business and customer participation.
Atlassian has customers that range in size from the 10’s to the 100,000’s of employees, and so you will be responsible for a broad portfolio of training experiences, that cater to both free and paid audiences in the Agile, DevOps, IT, and Workplace collaboration domains. You will execute both for activating a large volume of new learners, and for managing an existing strong Enterprise training business P&L.
More about you
You want to be a part of something big. You enjoy pursuing challenges and making your mark, you are passionate about education, continuous learning and improvement, and you are excited about investing in people to grow their careers with new knowledge.
You actively seek out and are energized by community engagement and gaining mindshare with your audience. You constantly seek out new ways of business development, and ways to engage business partners in creating new avenues of growth, and you love engaging in the creative process for building new ways of interaction and user delight.
You also want to mentor, develop and inspire teams and like to work in a high performing team culture. You are able to guide teams to aim beyond the horizon, but set practical short term goals that drive faster outcomes for customers, and you are up for the challenge of running teams within a fast growing organization and balancing the needs of the team with the needs of the business.
Your decision process is a balance of vision and analytics, using data to inform your investment portfolio, and you are an effective communicator for building your business case and getting organizational buy in to support the insights from your analysis.
Nothing about this role is small. If you want to be a cog in a large and defined system, then this simply is not a job for you.
