About Your Role:


Sendoso is looking for a customer-centric individual focused on developing a world-class marketplace team. This individual will be responsible for defining premium and unique gifting experiences by use case, geo and budget. They will develop a team of merchandisers/vendor managers to acquire the right vendors for the Sendoso Marketplace. The Senior Director of Vendor Management will work directly with manufacturers and brands to build scaled relationships and business opportunities. The Senior Director of Vendor Management will be responsible for developing and managing a dynamic business. Within this role, the individual will set a business strategy, establish and maintain strong vendor relationships and manage a P&L. In addition, this position is expected to provide leadership across teams - driving product, process, and customer experience improvements that will benefit all Sendoso customers.


Who You Are


You are a highly strategic leader with experience in merchandising, purchasing, vendor management, sales, marketing, corporate gifting and product development. You will be building a new function within our company and will need to leverage your leadership skills to build a cohesive, cross-functional team with responsibility over matrixed teams in other parts of the organization.

You will be focused on:

  • Defining a vendor management strategy and philosophy for the business with actionable goals
  • Building a team of Merchandisers/Buyers, Send Curators, and Sourcing Specialists experts
  • Creating a robust catalog of standardized gifting offerings for digital and physical sends
  • Understanding drivers and opportunities of the vendor management P&L
  • Managing relationships with vendors
  • Instituting best practices and processes which can be replicated across all teams
  • Leading change with cross-functional teams, and communicating with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines
  • Working with the Sendoso Product team to develop new, self-service gift/send solutions 
  • Aligning with Marketing on new gifting/sending options for internal and external use
  • Partner with the Product team to build the future marketplace roadmap for the Sendoso platform
  • Develop the skill set for your team to create and manage a monthly global forecast of Sends. Develop tools and reports to identify demand vs. actual Sending results
  • Ensure that all solutions are logistics friendly and optimized for warehouse efficiency by coordinating with our warehouse teams

Experience:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in vendor management
  • 5+ years’ experience in eCommerce.
  • Excellent communication, business acumen, organizational, and time management skills 
  • Ability to manage influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building
  • Track record of results, setting strategy, and running a large volume and high profile business
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
  • High threshold for working and thriving in an ambiguous, fast paced environment – figuring it out and adapting as you go
  • Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree
