About the role:

As the dedicated Product Manager for the database-connectors engineering teams, you will have ownership over how Fivetran works with databases of all types. Your mission will be to strengthen performance, reliability, security and completeness of our integrations with databases. You will work directly with multiple engineering teams, our security team, and our SRE team to ensure Fivetran is delivering the best database replication service available. Your success will give data engineers that warm fuzzy feeling knowing that their mission-critical data is flowing reliably, and analyst the same feeling easily deriving important business insights without frustration.

As a Product Manager at Fivetran, you will:

  • Drive the end-to-end experience of Fivetran data pipelines for databases, a significant driver of our revenue
  • Research, define, prioritize, and evangelize the Fivetran product and engineering roadmap as it relates to databases
  • Orchestrate the delivery of improvements to database pipelines by partnering with marketing, customer success, and other functions in the company
  • Work closely with the security and site reliability teams to ensure that the Fivetran database pipelines meet and exceed the highest security and reliability standards
  • Create internal practices, supportive co-development mechanisms, and product/design guidance that promote the development of exceptional data experiences across the entire product development organization
  • Assist in training new hires, colleagues, partners and our fan club on the workings of Fivetran, both current and upcoming

Behavioral Requirement:

  • You are organized, with the ability to clearly articulate your thought process and show your knowledge of product management mechanics
  • You employ a Design Thinking approach to product management, starting every feature and product build with deep customer empathy and never losing that focus throughout an agile and dynamic process
  • You are effective in your collaborations with engineering partners and product management teammates
  • You have the ability to influence with or without formal authority; as well as, work with ambiguity as the company experiences hyper growth

Technical Requirement:

  • Experience shipping products - specifically database or low-level data integration - directly to technical audience
  • Experience in database optimization, database replication, cloud networking, or cloud security is a major plus
  • Track record of shipping product features that deliver results
  • Experience using data and analytical abilities to help solve problems and make decisions
  • SQL coding experience
  • BS in computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical and analytical acumen

Our Office is located in the City Center Complex in the heart of Downtown Oakland. The building sits right above a BART station - 12th St. Oakland City Center.
