Fanatics is rapidly scaling the sport licensed product business globally through intellectual rights acquisitions and the vertical commerce business model.


This position is instrumental in the strategic development of Fanatics hard-goods product families. Through collaboration and business planning, projects will be established that align with the long-term goals. Existing investments in domestic manufacturing, facilities and established distribution channels should be leveraged in the development of product innovation. Today the product assortment consists of over 20 product families that are often merchandised together in complimentary ways. 


 We believe innovation drives growth and profitability. Being passionate about product and how things are made is essential. Understanding product design and quality specifications is necessary to be successful in this position. Having a working knowledge of existing in-house decorating processes will aid the collaboration of development with artists, engineers and suppliers. Decision making responsibilities and accountability in developing sustainable supply chain relationships compliant with the highest social and product quality standards is necessary. Understanding the financial considerations and supply chain impact on the overall profit model is critical to deliver an acceptable product to the customer.


 Global supply chain and product innovation experience is required with a blended approach to decoration. Anticipating a blended matrix of offshore and domestic decoration to maximize SKU productivity and inventory turn to maximize the opportunity and service customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all departments at Fanatics - Art, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, Sales
  • Team contribution to develop multi-million dollar product family strategies including defining product specifications, identifying trends and market shifts, and planning product cycle so the launch/introduction is on-time and in-sync with market seasonality
  • Extensive interaction and plan development with executive management, industrial engineers, supply chain personnel, artists, manufacturing leadership and finance team
  • Global experience and innovation development with a keen sense of delivering a quality product at the correct price, on time to market
  • Build and communicate product innovation plans and timelines that align with business seasonality and buying timelines of the sports industry
  • Methodically build a case for change and recommendations for product positioning, investments and the go to market strategies.
  • Creative development and design evaluation. Both structural and aesthetic acceptance that is appropriate for the market.
  • Collaboration and problem solving with engineers and manufacturing in the improvement of product and profitability.
  • Direct and monitor supply chain personnel to ensure continuity with the product plans and goals
  • Cultural awareness relative to offshore supply chain management including travel to Asia, India, Turkey, South America, Europe
  • Understanding and respectful of social compliance guidelines that Fanatics holds at the highest standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields Design, Engineering, Business. Strong understanding of the product creation process.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience specializing in product develop, supplier evaluation and project success, culminating in bringing product to market, financial goal achievement and business sustainability.
  • Excellent communication skills and team dynamics. Able to network, gain trust with co-workers. Balance multiple personalities and competing agendas. Strong visual, written and verbal skills.
  • Highly skilled at critical thinking and decision making. Ability to effectively share decision points, rationale, plan development.
  • Experience and willingness to travel globally up to 35%
