Enterprise Sales Director, Japan
About the role:
The Director of Enterprise Sales Japan will be responsible for developing and executing enterprise sales strategy with our partners in Japan to drive significant demand for Udemy products. As a member of the Udemy Japan team, you will work closely with the Executive, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and UFB teams and play a critical/leading role in securing new client partnerships.
In this entrepreneurial role, you are responsible for achieving business targets in Japan through a consultative sales management process in which you build relationships with senior leaders at partners as well as with selected customers directly in Japan. You will develop an in-depth understanding of Udemy’s product offerings and how Udemy product offerings can help various organizations achieve their organizational objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of enterprise sales, new technology product introduction experience, excellent consultative and customer engagement capabilities, strong problem solving and project/program management skills, as well as general technical / business management proficiency.
Here's what you'll be doing
- Establish strategic plans and objectives to drive desired business growth
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities, coach and mentor partners’ sales team on the ground, for converting these prospects to customer wins
- Build relationships with key executives with major customers and organizations
- Forecast and manage progress against quarterly and annual goals
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify the key product and business requirements for successful closure of prospective large opportunities
- Provide regular insights from customer & prospect relationships to guide future product development efforts
- Provide leadership for program execution in successful implementation of the prospective large-scale opportunities
- Drive top-line revenue growth through both new customer acquisition and solution expansion within existing accounts
- Develop, coach and lead internal team as well as sales team at partners to perform at a high level
We're excited about you because you have:
- 10 or more years of experience in a senior Sales or Business Development role in enterprise software, cloud technology, or telecommunications
- Developed and executed large and complex deals in Japan and/or similar markets
- Experience developing and executing regional sales plans and forecasts, addressing new customer acquisition and existing customer growth
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting customer relationships
- Excellent written, presentation and negotiation skills, ability to create and deliver convincing arguments and close large contracts
- Proven effectiveness working across functional teams
- SaaS Human Capital/Talent Management Software experience a plus
- Bilingual in Japanese/English
- Must be able to communicate in Japanese in meetings as well as emails
- Must have a solid understanding of Japanese business culture to represent Udemy
