The Senior Analyst, FP&A is a key contributor in the Finance organization who supports GRAIL’s Annual Planning process and helps transform strategy and vision into financial plans. This role reports to the Director, FP&A and will be a trusted business partner to GRAIL’s Software and IT leaders and budget owners. This role will own the budget and forecast process across the Software and IT functions, and support investment decision making through business case analysis to ensure continued success of these functions. 


This is a highly visible role working with senior leaders in the Software and IT organizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, understanding how to distill complex new projects into business cases, and how Software resourcing drives company initiatives. 


This is a hybrid role that requires you to be on-site 2 days a week in Menlo Park, CA

Responsibilities

  • Drive the monthly, quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting process for the Software and IT functions, providing insights into investment activity and budget variances
  • Understand GRAIL’s SaaS environment and partner with IT to develop strategies to drive efficiencies in our purchased software stack
  • Understand GRAIL’s cloud infrastructure and partner with Software to reduce cloud computing costs 
  • Understand GRAIL’s physical networking infrastructure and partner with IT to develop sound long term scaling strategies
  • Support portfolio trade off analysis for the Software and IT groups
  • Build financial models to support resource and capital expenditure decision-making, including capacity analyses, cash flow projections and investment planning
  • Act as a primary conduit between Corporate FP&A and Software and IT leadership to ensure planned and actual spend aligns with company goals and objectives
  • Prepare executive presentations for budget, forecast, and business case analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate will have 6+ years’ experience in Finance or Business Analysis
  • Experience supporting Software and IT organizations is required
  • Experience in Diagnostic or Life Science industries is preferred
  • BS/BA in Finance, Accounting or Business related degree or equivalent
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.
  • Proven analytical and project management skills
  • Logical and critical thinking skills

The expected, full-time, annual base pay scale for this position is $102K-$128K.  Actual base pay will consider skills, experience, and location.


Based on the role, colleagues may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance, or an incentive plan. We also offer a long-term incentive plan to align company and colleague success over time.
