About the position

Pando Telecom Co. seeks an experienced WIFI Support Engineer who has a passion and enthusiasm for delivering echelon support and customer service. Our enterprise customers are our main focus but the qualified candidate will have experience working with IT directors, IT managers and other network engineers in an effort to resolve WIFI related issues. As a member of the Pando Team, you can expect to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues pertaining to existing WIFI networks and deployments.

What you will be doing

  • Providing on-site engineering support for wireless access points, antennas, cabling, switches, and controllers
  • Troubleshooting wireless access points, cabling and connections
  • Providing written and oral updates to service tickets and support requests
  • Conducting and/or reviewing wireless RF surveys and interpret results
  • Coordinating truck rolls to customer sites
  • Managing project parts, inventory, components and delivery schedules
  • Tracking and logging time spent on issues
  • Working independently and with a group of team members

 

Who is the qualified candidate

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in the wireless network industry
  • Experience with wireless packet captures and analysis
  • Solid understanding of switch and VLAN configurations
  • Solid wireless network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
  • A tenacious self-starter who is driven to deliver top performing systems
  • Consistently well-spoken and dedicated to the task mission
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of RF principles, enterprise network design topologies, and OSI layer 1 characteristics
  • You take ownership of situations and you never assume others will handle open items
  • Priority of time management and organizational tasks
  • Willingness to learn new skills, hardware, and other wireless technologies
  • Proficiency in RF testing, analysis and assessment, and system architecture
  • Experience working at customer sites

Some basic requirements

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
  • A valid drivers license
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening upon request
  • Travel to customer sites within 4 hours notice
  • Ability to work non-standard business hours
