San Francisco-based startup Envoy announced it raised $30 million in new financing from TriplePoint Capital on Thursday. The workplace platform provider will use funds to develop new technology that will ideally help shape office spaces in a post-coronavirus world.

The company, founded in 2013, began with its launch of Envoy Visitors, a platform designed to eliminate all the inefficiency problems that usually plague the front desk working environment. Envoy Visitors employs smart home technology in order to check-in office guests. The platform is made available via an iPad app that notifies employee hosts when their visitors have arrived.

With the latest round of financing, the company is looking to beta test its latest suite of tools, Envoy Protect. The tool is intended to make office spaces safer once employees return to their respective work environments amid the global pandemic. Envoy Protect features touch-free sign-in and office capacity management capabilities that monitor how many people are in a space at a given time.

“Employers are turning to us for help making their workplaces safe and healthy — for the many people whose jobs depend on a physical workplace, and for those who simply prefer working in an office,” Larry Gadea, CEO and founder of Envoy, said in a statement. “We believe in the power of the workplace to help us connect with our colleagues, create boundaries between work and home, and accomplish some of our best work.”

The company has also launched Envoy Rooms, a platform that intends to save clients time and money by eliminating the hassles of meeting room scheduling and management.

The company is looking to launch additional features in the coming months, including a program that monitors the cleaning and sanitation schedules of desks and conference rooms.

“There’s no doubt our work lives will be forever changed by the pandemic. More people will have the option to continue working remotely, even as workplaces gradually reopen. The way we use and interact with our workspaces will change,” Gadea said.

According to the company, over 13,000 workplaces use Envoy on a daily basis. The company’s list of clients include Slack, Zoom Video Communications, Pinterest, Hulu, Mailchimp and Mazda, among others.

Envoy has raised $59.2 million in venture capital to date, according to Crunchbase.
