As information travels through fiber optics at the speed of light, content permeates every corner of the internet and AI developments are announced with every news cycle, the need to safeguard intellectual property and manage online reputations has become paramount.

Enter Redflag AI — a one-stop shop for content and brand protection that utilizes cutting-edge technology to analyze and track online content.

At the helm of Redflag AI is CEO and Founder Max Eisendrath. As Eisendrath saw social media evolve to not only encompass personal content but also enterprise intellectual property, he became inspired to work to shield content from threats that exist across the web.

According to Eisendrath, one of the earliest challenges that Redflag AI took on was determining which use case to focus on first as the company developed an initial go-to-market strategy. The abundance of potential applications for their technology necessitated careful consideration and strategic planning to ensure a successful launch.

Today, Redflag AI use cases span four categories: brand and retail, financial fraud, media and entertainment, and sports and events. The company specializes in developing software equipped to analyze all forms of online communication, scrutinizing text, image, video and audio content — enabling it to identify and locate specific content across the entire internet. These solutions not only allow businesses and individuals to protect their content but also to gain deep insight into and manage online reputations.

Despite Eisendrath’s confidence and expertise, founding a company is not without its moments of doubt and uncertainty. But when asked about whether there were moments when giving up seemed like an option, his response reflects the entrepreneurial spirit: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” This steadfast determination and belief in the mission propelled Redflag AI forward.

What prompted you to start Redflag AI?

The variety and importance of online content becomes increasingly apparent every year. Social media has played a critical role, ushering in multimodal interactions ranging from text to audio, image and both long- and short-form video. Not only personal content but also enterprise IP of all kinds is primarily accessed online. The need to both protect this content and fully understand its spread across the internet has never been more important. 

Redflag was founded on the idea that a new type of comprehensive machine learning analysis and detection engine was needed to address the plethora of related use cases including anti-piracy, brand protection, identity theft, deep fake detection and social understanding.

 

To whom did you look for inspiration early on and why?

Other companies that were focused on offering their own machine learning models and products —  not just as APIs, but for specific end-to-end business use cases — were very helpful to bounce ideas off of in our research and development phase.

 

What’s next?

We’re on track to become vertical leaders in enterprise media, sports and livestream content protection. The next 18 months will be a very exciting time to begin expanding our underlying technology into additional use cases for the individual consumer.
