While Adara Belisle fulfills the role of senior executive assistant at Sisense, she’s also considered the company’s unofficial maestro.

As she supports the company’s executives, she helps various teams across the company — revenue, legal and marketing, to name a few — combine their unique sounds to achieve a sense of harmony powerful enough to drive progress across the entire organization.

Maintaining these cross-functional partnerships partly defines Belisle’s day-to-day work. So while her immediate team consists of three individuals, it feels much larger than that.

“It’s a unique position that gives me the chance to collaborate with so many inspiring and talented people,” Belisle said. “While I focus on helping them succeed, I also get to learn a ton along the way.”

Whether she’s optimizing workflows or organizing brainstorming sessions, she does her part to guide everyone toward perfect unison.

“Each team brings its own instrument to the mix, and the more we practice together, the better we sound,” Belisle said.

Harnessing the ‘Real Magic’ of Teamwork

For Belisle, the “real magic” of her role occurs during the hours following important leadership meetings.

Once she has the information she needs from the company’s executives, she explained, she has quick huddles with team leaders to begin the process of turning those big ideas into action. For example, through her regular collaboration with the company’s enablement team, Belisle has the chance to brainstorm creative ideas, troubleshoot issues and build concepts from the ground up.

“It’s that kind of ‘let’s roll up our sleeves together’ energy that makes collaborating with them so rewarding,” she said.

When Belisle isn’t busy checking in with other teams, she focuses on coordinating in-person meetings, tracking expenses, handling procurement and more. Besides building and strengthening culture across the company, she especially enjoys finding ways to improve teams’ workflows.

“I’m always eager to explore new tools — especially the AI platforms our company has made available — and find creative ways to make our work more efficient,” Belisle said.

There are a few things she considers essential to maintaining cohesion across teams at Sisense, and one of them is clear communication.

“We focus on making sure everyone is aligned, so we can move forward in lockstep with shared goals and expectations,” Belisle said.

This strong communication came into play recently while she was planning the company’s revenue kickoff, during which she and her teammates encountered a few challenges early on. Belisle shared that, by getting the right people together in one place, talking openly and making sure everyone understood the “why” behind what they were doing, they got back on track quickly and finished strong, which resulted in a kickoff that was engaging, fun and interactive — despite it being virtual.

“We pulled off some amazing customer interviews, complete with in-house video editing, to keep them engaging, and rounded out the event with demos, breakouts and awards,” she said. “It turned into a truly full and dynamic experience, and I couldn’t have been prouder of what the team accomplished.”

The Chance to Drive ‘Continued Momentum’

When Belisle first joined Sisense a little over a year ago, she felt “a bit green,” having never supported a go-to-market team before — but soon enough, that unfamiliarity gave way to self-assurance.

“Over time, as I built relationships and got to know more team members, I found my footing,” she said. “Now, I really feel in step with the teams and confident in how I can support them.”

Forging connections has defined Belisle’s time at the company, and one of her favorite ways to do this is through partnering with the organization’s internal podcast group. Through this experience, she gets to hear and share stories of success, challenges and growth from teams across the organization, which she considers both personally rewarding and critical in creating the type of workplace Sisense strives to cultivate.

“Not only does this group embody the larger company culture of inclusivity, bias for action and disruption, but through the podcast, we actually help strengthen that culture by connecting departments and creating space for shared experiences,” Belisle said. “It’s a great example of how even a small team can have a big impact.”

Belisle feels lucky to work alongside her peers, whom she considers to be “intelligent, inspiring people” who encourage her to continuously learn. As Sisense continues to evolve, she’s eager to see how all the work that has gone into helping her teammates succeed — from offering better training to driving strong alignment — will put the organization in an even better position to thrive.

“We’re moving toward becoming a well-oiled machine, with everyone working toward shared goals,” Belisle said. “It’s inspiring to see the company coming together, and I’m looking forward to being part of that continued momentum and growth over the next couple of years.”
