Webflow, a San Francisco-based company that leverages AI to help users build and optimize websites, announced the launch of its new solution, Webflow App Gen. The app creation tool expands Webflow’s reach beyond websites and into web experiences.

App Gen’s capability enables users to build full-stack applications from a prompt, based in Webflow’s enterprise-grade infrastructure. The release follows the launch of Webflow Cloud earlier this year, building on the foundation it provides for full-stack app creation.

The new App Gen tool combines an organization’s design variables and components, CMS content and hosting infrastructure to generate consistent-looking experiences like event calendars, pricing calculators, job boards and location finders.

App Gen is undergoing continuous improvements as Webflow’s team works to incorporate authentication, databases, third-party integrations and complex logic into its capabilities. The company’s upcoming solution, Component Gen, will launch later to allow users to generate custom components with AI.
