Financial services company Wells Fargo recently announced a new head of AI products and solutions. Faraz Shafiq will assume the role effective February 9, bringing more than a decade and a half of technology leadership and product innovation experience to the company.
Prior to this latest appointment, Shafiq held leadership roles at tech organizations including AWS, Verizon, AT&T and Google. Wells Fargo offers a diversified set of banking, investment and mortgage products and services, as well as consumer and commercial finance solutions. In this new role, Shafiq will spearhead the vision, roadmap and development of AI-powered products across the enterprise.
Shafiq will be based in San Francisco and report to Head of AI and co-CEO of Consumer Banking and Lending Saul Van Beurden. Shafiq’s appointment furthers Wells Fargo’s goal of shaping the future of financial services, innovating how the sector delivers for employees, customers and communities.
