Owns brand reputation and stakeholder engagement in a highly scrutinized, safety-critical autonomous vehicle industry.

Lead software assurance for autonomous-driving systems by developing and improving processes aligned with ASPICE and ISO 26262. Conduct audits, manage deficiencies and corrective actions, analyze root causes, report software quality metrics, and present findings to engineering leadership. Collaborate across safety, engineering, operations, and product teams to support conformance and safe deployment in a safety-critical environment.

Owns end-to-end software and vehicle release operations, including release trains, branching, build triage, hotfixes, release communications, and compliance gating. The role drives automation, predictive prevention, AI/ML-enabled triage, auditable safety practices, and scalable change control across engineering, safety, hardware, and test teams in a safety-critical autonomous vehicle environment.

Develop reporting, analytics, metrics, and dashboards to optimize autonomous-vehicle data collection and software development processes. Partner with data scientists, software leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize data sourcing, build scalable data pipelines, monitor operational processes, and communicate insights. The role uses on-road and simulation data to support Aurora Driver development and commercialization.

Designs, deploys, operates, and scales enterprise network infrastructure across offices, manufacturing sites, and truck terminals. Leads network security, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, monitoring, automation, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives. Owns complex deployments, incident response, capacity planning, documentation, and cross-functional network projects. Mentors engineers, manages vendor and carrier relationships, participates in on-call support, and occasionally travels to company and partner facilities.

Leads end-to-end reliability testing for autonomous vehicle hardware across four internal labs and external facilities. Manages engineers, technicians, and contractors; oversees lab operations, test execution, SOPs, safety protocols, equipment calibration, maintenance, and capacity planning. Partners with facilities, supply chain, purchasing, and hardware design teams, and supports root cause corrective action for component failures. Ensures hardware meets automotive performance, durability, and safety standards.

Leads Aurora’s Vehicle Product Management team, setting strategy and coordinating product managers across the vehicle and hardware portfolio. Defines requirements, roadmaps, metrics, and prioritization for autonomous vehicle hardware; manages lifecycles from concept through integration and field support; collaborates with engineering, design, OEMs, suppliers, regulatory, legal, and safety teams; and communicates priorities to leadership.

Lead full-stack development for Aurora’s mapping systems, owning features from architecture through deployment. Build scalable backend services, geospatial data pipelines, and responsive WebGL web applications using React or Angular. Develop geometric algorithms, improve system reliability, influence technical roadmaps, mentor engineers, review code, and collaborate with operations and cross-functional teams to improve mapping workflows and autonomous fleet support.

Build and maintain an AI-native application security program for autonomous trucking software and infrastructure. Partner with engineering teams on secure design and remediation, investigate vulnerabilities, threat model systems, contribute production code, develop security automation and developer tooling, and integrate preventative controls into the software development lifecycle. Use AI to scale investigations while validating results and explaining technical reasoning.

Design, implement, and harden enterprise security controls across endpoints, identity, networks, and data. Configure security platforms, develop Python and Go automation, maintain macOS, Linux, and Windows security baselines, support network security and vulnerability management, and contribute to SIEM detection pipelines. The role partners with IT and Engineering, delivers scoped security projects, and participates in an on-call rotation.

Architect and optimize LiDAR systems for autonomous vehicles. Develop requirements, testing, verification and validation procedures; evaluate technologies; collect on-vehicle data; analyze system performance, risks, and root causes; and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, optical, firmware, validation, manufacturing, and safety teams. Present technical reports and manage requirements across the system lifecycle.

Lead architecture and implementation of advanced DSP pipelines for coherent lidar systems, optimizing algorithms for FPGA, SIMD, embedded platforms, and custom ASICs. Develop physics-based simulations and prototyping tools, collaborate with photonics and electrical engineering teams, and drive verification, hardware emulation, silicon bring-up, and real-world performance tuning.

Lead reliability testing and validation for automotive drive-by-wire hardware used in autonomous vehicles. Develop stress and environmental test protocols, analyze failures, perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and report findings to stakeholders. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, suppliers, and development partners. Drive compliance with automotive reliability standards, improve hardware development processes, and mentor reliability engineers.

Lead cross-functional initiatives to mature cloud and enterprise detection infrastructure, including telemetry pipelines, detection-as-code, logging, and scalable coverage. Design and tune detections for cloud, identity, endpoint, SaaS, CI/CD, and service-to-service threats. Conduct threat hunting, support incident response and on-call operations, apply threat intelligence and adversary emulation, mentor SOC engineers, and improve detection capabilities based on incident lessons learned.

Own and optimize Workday HR processes, organizational structures, reports, mass data changes, and automated workflows. Lead UAT for system updates, manage defects, support HR compliance reporting, and ensure data integrity and audit readiness. Partner with People and IT teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions, conduct root cause analysis, document workflows, train AI agents, and enable team members on Workday, data management, testing, and process best practices.

Build and operate Aurora’s cloud infrastructure and developer platform. Responsibilities include managing Kubernetes upgrades, developing developer-facing tooling, operating Kubernetes services, improving development velocity, and collaborating across teams to gather requirements and advance platform projects.

Lead and grow a team of 8–10 software engineers building scalable cloud backend services and fleet management tools for autonomous vehicle operations. Responsibilities include system architecture, product delivery, technical roadmap development, cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder communication, engineering quality, reliability, and team development. The role supports real-time and offline workflows, fleet optimization, customer-facing software, and commercial autonomous vehicle operations.

Shepherd hardware from concept through low-volume manufacturing and production transfer. Lead assembly process development, control plans, manufacturing documentation, yield analysis, quality improvement, APQP, PPAP, and production validation. Provide onsite technical support, guide design-for-manufacturing decisions, resolve process and equipment issues, and collaborate with internal teams and contract manufacturers. The role includes optical and electro-optical assembly, cross-functional design reviews, continuous improvement, vendor coordination, and 20–35% international travel, including frequent evening calls with Asian manufacturers.
