Supports Backblaze’s public-company legal and governance operations, including SEC filings, Section 16 reporting, insider trading administration, board and committee materials, entity records, Nasdaq compliance, stock administration, litigation support, insurance claims, subpoenas, and legal process. The role coordinates with attorneys, executives, auditors, finance, outside counsel, and other stakeholders while maintaining confidential information and deadline-driven calendars. Own Backblaze’s public-company legal function, including SEC reporting, proxy materials, Section 16 and insider-trading compliance, corporate governance, board support, entity management, risk programs, M&A, corporate finance, and equipment financing transactions. Monitor securities and governance developments, apply AI tools to legal workflows, manage outside counsel, and advise cross-functional stakeholders. This fully remote role requires a senior corporate and securities lawyer with substantial public-company experience, strong judgment, and deadline-management skills.

Plan, forecast, and optimize hardware capacity for storage, compute, and network. Build predictive models and automated forecasting pipelines, monitor cluster performance, align cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance, and support procurement and deployment decisions to ensure scalable, cost-efficient platform reliability.

Own positioning and go-to-market narrative for Backblaze B2 platform. Conduct customer research and competitive analysis, build sales enablement (talk tracks, battle cards), align platform and AI messaging, partner with sales and demand gen, and deliver a core messaging framework within 90 days.

Lead design and implement large-scale backend storage features for Backblaze's object storage platform, focusing on host-managed SMR support, IO benchmarking and performance optimization, driving technical decisions, mentoring, and delivering production rollouts across thousands of servers.

Work on Backblaze's storage platform (B2 Object Storage and Computer Backup) to improve durability, throughput, and architecture. Lead technical design, drive implementation of large features, shape coding practices, and participate across design, implementation, testing, and rollouts while collaborating proactively in a remote-first team.
