Teams at Bay Area Legal Aid

Provides direct legal representation to low-income clients in Social Security disability, SSI, CAPI, and other public benefits matters. Handles cases from initial applications through federal court, conducts advocacy and community education, coordinates with partners, identifies systemic barriers, and supports broader social justice initiatives. Maintains caseload documentation, funding deliverables, and collaborative client services while appearing in court and traveling throughout Alameda County and the Bay Area.

Manage biweekly payroll operations, payroll accounting, reconciliations, compliance, reporting, and integration across Paycom, Salesforce, and MIP. Ensure adherence to IRS, California EDD, wage and hour, US GAAP, funding, and union requirements. Lead personnel cost forecasting, grant budget preparation, retirement plan audit coordination, process automation, and staff development while supporting BayLegal’s Finance Department.

Represents unhoused San Francisco clients in Social Security disability, SSI, and CAPI claims and appeals, from applications through federal court. Provides assistance with public benefits, impact advocacy, community outreach, workshops, technical assistance, and collaboration with government and nonprofit partners. The attorney tracks services and funding deliverables, travels to shelters and other community locations, appears in court, and works collaboratively across BayLegal practices.
